I'll have to say a 1989 BBC drama production starring Diana Rigg called 'Mother Love'. It was adapted by Andrew Davies (The BBC's House of Cards Trilogy) from Domini Taylor's (Roger Longrigg's) novel concerning a mother's obsessive love for her son, vengeful hatred of his father, her ex-husband, and the effect on her daughter-in-law and grandchildren. The drama has never been released on BBC VHS or DVD in the past. Diana Rigg is absolutely malevolent in the role, and the drama became a cult classic overtime. I know that clips of the drama have surfaced in the past on You Tube, but since then it's disappeared altogether. Why the BBC didn't release it on DVD ill never know? It did get repeated on UK Gold back in the mid to late 1990's, but since then, nothing.

Oh bloody hell, I think that One Summer is something I saw as a kid and has haunted me for thirty years! I may have to pick that up, thanks for that! ![]() Yes, I remember Chocky. And Children of the Dog Star (mid 80s NZ sci-fi show). The 80s Little Vampire, of course, which I still absolutely adore. For a long time (up to the late 00s) all I had of that was the first book it was based on, that actually has a cover featuring the TV show actors. That was the only proof I had of the thing's existence, even in the early 00s I couldn't even find it on the net, not even on Michael Gough career biographies when I was sure he was in it! |

![]() Never had a DVD release or VHS release in the UK. I think Warner's in Holland released a specially edited VHS release for the rental market. Shame the BFI don't badger the BBC for a BFI DVD release. I would love to see it again.

If it's the one I'm thinking of, yes I do! I mainly remember the ending, with the dog barking through the car window. Shame it's not out, I wouldn't mind seeing that again either!

The Nightmare Man is pretty good. I don't "remember it" because I never saw it as a kid, but I was persuaded to buy it a few years back by its reputation and the fact that it was adapted by Robert Holmes and directed by Douglas Camfield (classic Who legends both). Enjoyed it.
