It's not long before crew men especially those wearing red end up dead with all he salt drained from their body's. Not long afterwards the ship is mysteriously destroyed, we soon learn that this was caused by Charlie who as well as being the usual stroppy and horny teenage boy, also has god like powers with which he can do almost everything. The enterprise find the "black box" of on old earth ship that was destroyed after trying to cross a barrier surrounding the edge of our galaxy. The enterprise tries to cross the barrier narrowly survives but ends up without warp capability. At the same time a number of crew members fell unconscious when trying to pass through the barrier. As the enterprise limps towards a lithium mining planet to repair there warp engines, Kirks best friend Garry Mitchell ( Gary Lockwood best know for the second astronaut in 2001 that HAL killed) begins developing psychic powers, as his powers begin to grow and he becomes more powerful and begins to look at the crew as nothing but insects, Soon a battle of wits begins between Kirk and his old friend. | What TV Have You Seen? ImageUploadedByTapatalk1453757645.955349.jpg The enterprise is sent to investigate when contact is lost with a scientific outpost that is monitoring the collapse of a planet. Everyone on the outpost is found dead, stupidly a crew man that was sent to investigate along with Spock removes his glove of his protection suit and is infected and it's not long before the rest of the crew are infected and begin to lose control and behave as if drunk. Kyle takes control of the engine room and ends up turning off the warp engines Sulu chase crew members around the ship with his huge chopper out, Spock becomes unable to handle his emotions. Kirk loses control as well as other crew members leaving posts and not doing there jobs. If that's not enough that enterprise gets caught in the planets gravity well and his slowly falling to its doom. | ImageUploadedByTapatalk1453759175.917325.jpg When the unfortunately named geology technician "fissure" hurts himself and has to beam up to,the enterprise to be treated. fIssure was covered in a unknowing substance that effects the transporter, by splitting who every beams up into their good and evil half's. Unfortunately the next person to beam up is Kirk who evil half gets drunk, forces himself on Janice Rand and attacks some crew members. Luckily no one else is beamed up part from sulus space dog which is also splits into two. | Star Trek series reviews. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1453803285.013052.jpg In pursuit and rescue of a cargo ship the enterprise burn out all but one lithium crystals. So the enterprises limps to the nearest mining facility to resupply. Matters aren't as easy as you would think, with trouble being caused by the rescued ship crew which are space pirate Harry Mudd and three beautifully women that have a strange effect on the crew. Once the enterprise arrives at the mining planet Kirk has some of the miners beamed up to obtain the much need crystals as systems on the enterprise are beginning to shut down, things seem to be going well until the miners see the women and want said women and the release of Mudd (who has by now been charged with numerous crimes. Kirk refuses this offer, thankfully we find that the beauty and effect on the men is artificial caused by a drug called Venus. Not long after the miners find out about this and Kirk rescues one of the lady's, they change their minds and give the much need crystals. The Trouble with Tribbles.December 29, 1967 Ive always preferred the Star Trek episodes with abit of humour in the storyline,nothing more satisfying than seeing Kirk or Spook getting taken down a peg ot two,or seeing Bones look smug as he informs some poor extra who has been beamed down on to another planet only to be diagnosed with some incurable alien disease.And say what you like about the tribbles (and you probably can as I don't think they got any ears) at least Kirk will not try to copulate with them or get them drunk on Romulan Ale and drag them back to his cabin.The Trouble with Tribbles has a fairly ludicrous story line,but then again what Star Trek episode isn't. Cyrano Jones (Stanley Adams) an intergalactic space trader give one of the furry little blighter's to the sexy Lt. Uhura (Nichelle Nichols) who takes it aboard the Starship Enterprise,where low and behold not only does it eat everything in sight but copulates and reproduces at a frighteningly fast rate,even faster than Kirk does.There is something really satisfying see Kirk truly befuddled by these furry critters and even more funnier seeing him buried up to his chin in these things,and although it is one of the more sillier episodes the cast still give it there all and really sell the idea that these things are truly alive,you do get a sense that they are an actual creature,which you don't always get with special effects,I mean at the end of the day it just a ball of fur.isn't it?? That said they do make use of the tribble in a fairly good plot point,by the fact that tribbles hate Klingon's,and get all freaked out whenever a Klingon is close by or present.Which makes for a nice little plot device when there is a Klingon spy aboard.This may not be the best ever episode but has got to be in the top ten at least.
