1975 was a year for some brilliant horror films, but which one is your favourite? What makes it special to you? When did you first see it? Would you recommend it to the uninitiated? Sometimes it's a hard decision to just pick one film (even when you're limiting it to a single year!), but my favourite film of 1975 is... Profondo Rosso - Dario Argento Not my favourite giallo, or my favourite Argento but Deep Red is certainly my favourite from 1975. Beautifully shot and scored, this is certainly a good starting point for anyone wishing to dip their toe into giallo waters... Trailer: Get the latest Flash Player to see this player. I can't argue with that as Profondo Rosso is an all-time great movie and my second favourite Argento (after Suspiria). Ingeniously plotted and with bravura camera movement, it is a superb film and one that I wish I could have my memory erased so I could watch it fresh without knowing the ending.

![]() ![]() I do enjoy all the Blind Dead films (Galleon the least), but there is something special about Seagulls. The coastal setting and the sacrifice angle adds a certain degree menace to the story, and some of those slow-mo beach shots of the Knights Templar riding on horseback are fantastic. I watched The Blind Dead Collection not very long ago and, like you, found that Night of the Seagulls was the best of the four in terms of atmosphere, narrative and even acting! The others are very good but I thought they saved the best until last.

![]() It's definitely the best of the lot. "Lips of Blood", "Race with the Devil" I should add at this point as some of my release dates conflict with BE's, am using The Aurum Film Encyclopedia:Horror as a guide. |

![]() Good call. Jaws is one of those films that I could watch over and over again, probably more than Deep Red, but it would really just be a coin toss decision as to which of the two would be my favourite. I think Deep Red is the superior film, but Jaws is, after all, a terrific popcorn movie.

It's got to be Jaws for me too.I can still vividly remember going to see Spielberg's classic at the cinema at 7 years of age, I loved it!
