1990 was a year for some brilliant horror films, but which one is your favourite? What makes it special to you? When did you first see it? Would you recommend it to the uninitiated? Sometimes it's a hard decision to just pick one film (even when you're limiting it to a single year!), but my favourite film of 1990 is... Hardware - Richard Stanley So much more than a Terminator rip-off, Stanley's Hardware is a dystopian nightmare made flesh. Fantastic cinematography and lighting aid the cyberpunk style of Hardware, which in my opinion results in one of the finest films from the '90s. ![]() Exorcist 3 Nearly as good as the first imo. Honorable mentions to near horror films - Edward Scissorhands and The Witches . |

![]() Singapore Sling is indeed very beautiful to look at - it has a very big noir feel to it. Great ending, too.

Hardware is definitely my number 1 of 1990, Exorcist 3 second and it's between Jacobs Ladder and Nightbreed for third. Quote: |

I've got a real soft spot for Brian Yuzna's Bride of Re-Animator.It definitely needs a decent DVD release, preferably using the unrated print of the film. ![]()

I have a soft spot for It mainly because it was one of the first horror movies I ever saw.

![]() IT was a decent TV-Movie adaptation of the King novel, and Tim Curry was brilliant as Pennywise the clown. However, I really thought it fell apart in the final act when the 'creature' is discovered (bad effects work partially to blame!).

Hardware is definitely my choice too.At times very intense and claustrophopic, and with some very cool man vs. robot splatter scenes, all in a scorched apocalyptic planet. What's not to like? Yes,no flesh shall be spared. The other likes are Maniac Cop 2 (still waiting for someone to pick this up),Bride of Re-Animator (certainly better than Beyond Re-Animator),Baby Blood,Nightbreed,The Exorcist III and Cat in the Brain. It still pisses me off they kicked Stanley out from The Island of Dr. Moreau, that movie would have been a dream come true.

i don't understand how people on here can class Hardware as a horror film, it's a sci-fi movie, it's set in a post-apocalyptic world with a killer robot, it's exactly like the Terminator but that's not classed as horror. It baffles me.
