The lighter episodes of The Twilight Zone don't always work for me, and while this isn't as light as say Mr Bevis or something, I'd still put it more towards the lighter toned ones, but perhaps with quite a serious core. Which is maybe why I actually really like this episode. Joe Mantell's performance is quite "big", but it's enjoyable, and the subtext that sometimes we think we're in a rut, but it's only ourselves keeping us there is a good message. A good solid enjoyable ep I think. Last edited by TwilightZoneTom@Cult Labs; 11th June 2011 at 04:59 PM. |

Very much a standout episode in my opinion. I have a thing about stories set Mainly in one closed location, it tends to lead towards strong character based innovative plots- and this was a great example. The actor playing the main role(s) makes a top notch performance and the story line plays out like a more exciting and engaging version of the 80s series first episode- shatterday. one of my favourites so far. Watched the last few episodes of Two & A Half Men with Charlie Sheen a few weeks ago, and this episode was heavily referenced. I recognized it straight away. John Cryer talking to his more confident reflection in the mirror, and being trapped there while the reflection leaves for a night on the town.
