The Sweeney

Man, where has this show been all my life?!? Was only recently exposed to this via the KILLER soundtrack. Any other fans here? I plan on eventually picking up the whole program, but are there any favorites when it to series' 1-4, and how do the full length films compare?

Cheers!

Regan only got melancholy when he ran out of whiskey and didn't have a nonce to bash.

Easily the best cop show ever and one of my favourite tv shows of all time. Network's recent Blu-ray release of series 1 looks absolutely stunning.

Are there any different extra's on the blu set,or is it the same as dvd box set?

I haven't got my dvd set any more Vic - I flogged it to finance the new BD edition! As far as I remember, the extras are pretty much the same, though there are a couple of differences, including a superb 112 page (!) booklet by Andrew Pixley, detailing the creation of the series and a review of each of the first series episodes. Here's a scan of the back cover for full info.

If you only have the dvd set, I can't recommend this enough. Apparently, the only episode they weren't able to restore to HD was the first one. Otherwise they look stunning. Believe me, you've never seen them like this before!
