The War of the Worlds is quite powerful. A bit pretentious in parts, but overall pretty good.

Noted D.
That Picnic At Hanging Rock they did was a tad stretched out, but was essentially the same.

As a companion piece to the upcoming programme

'In Search Of Dracula With Mark Gatiss'

BBC2 - Friday January 3rd, 2020 - 22:35-23.35 (Repeated BBC2 - Friday January 10th, 2020 - 00:15)

"From Orava Castle in Slovakia, the location used in the classic vampire film Nosferatu, Mark Gatiss journeys to the London Library on the trail of Bram Stoker's newly discovered research literature. From the UK, Mark flies to Philadelphia in the United States, where he studies Stoker's hand-written notes and examines the abandoned ideas, story lines and characters which went on to become his world-famous story.

Mark meets with actors, including reuniting seven Hammer brides, film experts and historians as he explores the count's transition from page to screen, from Bela Lugosi's Hollywood to Christopher Lee's terrifying incarnation, then finally coming face to face with the new Dracula himself - Danish actor Claes Bang.

This documentary explores and celebrates the icon of popular culture, asking just why we keep coming back to the count."

‘Jerusalem’s Lot’ is Headed to EPIX and Will Star Adrian Brody

An adaptation of Stephen King’s Jerusalem’s Lot is headed to EPIX. The 10-episode series will star Adrian Brody and come with Peter and Jason Filardi writing, exec producing and showrunning.

“The series is set in the 1850s. It follows Captain Charles Boone (Brody), who relocates his family of three children to his ancestral home in the small, seemingly sleepy town of Preacher’s Corners, Maine after his wife dies at sea. However, Charles will soon have to confront the secrets of his family’s sordid history, and fight to end the darkness that has plagued the Boones for generations.”

Jerusalem’s Lot will serve as a prequel story and is being described as ” intense, absolutely terrifying reimagining of classic gothic horror.” by EPIX’s Michael Wright.

Personally, any King story is reason enough for me to be excited but, I’m also over the moon to see Adrian Brody in the cast. Brody kind of fell off of the map for awhile. While he has been in a few straight to video jobs as of late, it’s nowhere near where he was around the release of Son of Sam and The Piano

Looks great. I saw The Play That Goes Wrong twice at the theatre, laughing constantly throughout, and also loved The Comedy about a Bank Robbery, so I'll definitely be watching this.

I hope the BBC repeat A Christmas Carol Goes Wrong – it's half an hour of comedy brilliance.
