By the way, this is my favourite sketch from the show. It always results in wet knickers.

The extended version on the series 2 deleted scenes is even funnier imo! Love the bit where she can say the orange juice line properly, but only when she's not 'acting' . . .

Just watching Nature's Weirdest Events on catchup. Some truly horrific stuff here - mind controlling parasites that drive snails to their death by bird, a fungus that ends up bursting out of the head of its host, whole trees and fields covered in a giant spiders web .....:wacko::yuck::embarassed::shocked::eek::ack:

I'm watching Celebrity Big Brother. Why, I hear you shouting at your screens?
This is why!

I always felt that the league were at their very best when not playing to the audience.

The stage shows and the film were watchable but it's their TV work, the Amicus inspired xmas special that is the absolute pinnacle of their achievements IMO. I'm also a one of the very few fans of the third series, I thought they pushed the envelope with that but it unfortunately didn't pay off with the audience of the time.

I thought the film was a lot better than series 3. The whole "playing to the audience" thing is a good point, something I think they were guilty of with every post-series 2 appearance of Papa Lazarou.

As it was a tv series, I'l put this here.

The Strange World Of Gurney Slade Anthony Newley's rather odd six parter. Acquired this over xmas from friend. As I had heard about this from an older mate who saw it at the time, I didn't really know what to expect. What you get is something is not for OTB fans imo. Post modern waaaay before it became the norm, this rather unusual series has more in common with Satre's No Exit than The Plank. Preempting several things including The Prisoner, Python & Reggie Perrin, this rather sombre (but funny I hasten to add) delight must have infuriated the viewers at the time, seeing as it was broadcast on Saturday at 20.35!! mindboggling really.

And it has Hugh Paddick playing a fairy. SOLD.;)
Here's a smidgen.....

The Trip.

Steve coogan and Rob brydon, directed by michael winterbottom travel around top restaurants in the north (including a couple not far from me!) Each episode centres around them eating dinner and talking with occasional asides as they deal with their private lives.

Given the amount of crap life is throwing at me these days I REALLY enjoyed this. If you dont like coogan or brydon you will probably hate it though.
