Have you seen Wonderfalls and Dead Like Me? If not, they are also well worth watching as there are subtle links between them.

I'm waiting for it to finish so I can watch it in one go.

We've watched three episodes and I'm really not finding the incentive to keep going. I was looking for inspiration

Same here, think we've watched 4 episodes and we're struggling to get interested compared to the first series, which we watched in one go! It's just not gripping enough

If I remember correctly, I thought the first series was very slow and demanded attention during the first 4-5 episodes. However, once it was past the halfway point, everything was tied together and I was just swept along.

Early on, there was a lot of character development and putting events and locations together and, once this happened, that's when I was really engaged (not that I wasn't interested during the first half of the season). It's possible that, because it's a new crime with new detectives, the second season will be the same.

It's similar to some detective films, such as Touch of Evil, Gone Baby Gone and Mystic River where the first act can be quite slow but the final act is utterly compelling.

That's exactly what I've been saying, we're gonna stick at it

The first few episoof Series 1 were slow, but they weren't dull. So far Series 2 has just been dull. Like Rik said it's just not been gripping enough. My main issue is the central crime is just so uninteresting.

That does sound like a problem – the murder in the first one was certainly not uninteresting.

Like I said, I'm going to watch them all in one go and will try and keep an open mind until then.

I'm hoping it picks up and i will avoid saying too much until you've watched it Nos.
