The Rig: Season 2.

The remainder crew of the Kinloch Bravo who were rescued from the oil rig find themselves at the mercy of the oil company with a cover up by the heads and uncover that something else may be in the pipeline aswell as discovering more of the Ancestor. This went in a different direction than I thought it would and certainly kept me entertained, I won't go into too much detail but certainly a great second season for this

I reactivated my Amazon Video account so the first thing I had to do was watch this. As a lover of gaming and the Fallout games I'm always nervous of any video games TV show or film a lot of the time they are muck but from the first trailer of this I just had a different look and feel where I knew it was going to be good plus with Bethesda so heavily involved I knew they would do it right.

Right off the bat the detail on this is mind blowing every single thing is spot on clothes products they advertise the shows they have own TV the sounds even the trash scattered all over the wasteland is the right trash down to the smallest piece. I was getting goosebumps and getting all giddy the whole way through the 8 episodes . I love almost everything about the show the characters are brilliant and funny the gore is so over the top is glorious and the creatures all look amazing nothing looks fake at all. There is so much running through my mind but it's too much to put all here just believe me this thing is perfect aesthetically.PERFECT.

My only two issues with the show are the character of Maximus in any show or film I absolutely hate any character that just stands there staring at people when they talk everything felt like it had to be dragged out of him it's different it's your the strong silent type but this just felt like a bratty teenagers who doesn't want to go visit grandma and this is every scene he really just made me feel like putting on the power armor and crushing his skull . The only other thing I didn't like too much is the use of music for those who don't know in Fallout the nuke drops Ian the 50s so the world is trapped in the time after the fallout and in the game there is music playing from 50s artists you can tune into radio stations on your pip boy as you wonder the wasteland but I feel it's better not to so you feel that loneliness and desolation but anyway in the show music is playing over most scenes and I just felt it was overkill it doesn't even fit just a full blown song takes over and it just feels like suddenly we are watching a music video just so out of place when it works it works but constantly it just gets jarring.

My favourite character by far is the ghoul he is funny cool and bad ass everyone knows he is dangerous and he carries out his killing is style brilliant character. I have to give them credit too for the writing of Lucy our main protagonist she is delightful I love how naive she is exactly how you would expect someone who has lived a sheltered European lifestyle sheltered from the evils of the real world as the show progresses and the more horrors she sees the less naive she becomes but the innocence is always there and she tries to see the good in everyone and everything no matter how bad the circumstances.

Can't wait for season 2.

I can't believe I didn't mention that the amazing Matt Berry is also in this even when serious he is still hilarious. Still the funniest man in New York Citaaaaay and Tuscon Arizunia

Getting towards the end of season 2 of Battlestar Galactica and i'm sure they used part of Withnail's Theme from Withnail and I just before the closing credits on the episode Scar where Starbuck is recounting the names of the dead Viper pilots.

This second series is a real step up from the first with the episodes Pegasus and Resurrection Ship parts one and two outstanding stuff. Hardly surprising in a way because the two episodes which featured the Pegasus in the original series were also the outstanding ones.

What i do think is that this rebooted series is all about human relationships with the war with the Cylons secondary unlike the the original series which was the other way round.

On the Blakes 7 set. The one I watched today was full of recognisable Who faces like John Leeson and Barry Jackson but what amused me most was the opening kill being Richard Hillman from Corrie lol Somehow managing to look the same in 1978 too, spooky.

Just finished season 1 now this is some mighty fine TV just a monster of a man kicking shooting stabbing strangling and humiliating ass . This show is an awesome time and Reacher himself is amazing the way he delivers humourous lines is perfect he is so direct and straight up and to the point it's great each episode flies by so much fun but it's also quite dark in places the violence is satisfying but the bad guys do some sick stuff. Don't be fooled by all my talk of laughing and kicking ass this show has a great story too keeps you guessing all the time.

This is well worth your time believe me just watch out for the tweed tornado

Took me a while but I finally made it through my seasons 1-4, eight disc Creepshow boxset. There's 48 stories over 25 episodes. A third of those stories are truly brilliant, a third adequate and a third downright awful. It has been a struggle at times.

There were definitely poorly chosen stories that seemed like a bad fit for the Creepshow brand. I'm a member of a Facebook Creepshow group and it seems that many people unfortunately just remember the bad content (they like to call it Greg Nicotero's Crapshow).

I've had to place notes in one of the cases to remind me where to easily find the top-notch content. Those stories easily amount to 3 or 4 full-length Creepshow films so in that regard, my purchase of the set was a success. Just be warned that sometimes it's terrible.

btw Interestingly the two Joe Hill adaptions were great.

Cobra Kai: Season 6: Part III

Not going to go into spoilers here but this set of episodes were a fitting finale to the series which I have said on many occasions, the series I didn't want but didn't know I needed.

There were no real cliffhangers with nostalgic flashbacks, I would have put out episodes 11-14 with uploading the fantastic finale episode a week later, let the ending of episode 14 settle and build up the anticipation for the last ever episode.

There are avenues for potential spin offs but nothing to lead into Karate Kid: Legends (I did think that there would be a cameo at the end though)

Overall I remember trying to buy the 1st two seasons on DVD during Lockdown but it was sold out (Ordered Season 1 of The Boys instead, wasn't disappointed by that one) only for it to be back on sale around 30 minutes later. Anyway 2 days later, I was very impressed with what I saw, the nostalgia from one of the earliest Film memories I had when my Mom rented The Karate Kid.

Kreese and Johnny are still some of the earliest film villains I remember and never thought that a series would make me root for Johnny whilst giving the return pop when Martin Kove appeared in the end of Season 1.

Anyone else been watching THE HIGH CHAPARRAL (1967 -1971) on Great Action and POLICE WOMAN (1974-1978) on Rewind?
Anyone else remember them?
Excellent to watch them again. I remember as a kid watching them lying in front of the TV.

I remember seeing The High Chaparral as a child. I couldn't tell you anything about it but it had one of those classic western themes.

Not on the same level as The Big Country, Bonanza or The Magnificent Seven, still good all the same.
