The Bill: Deep End/ The Party's Over/ Bang Bang, You're Dead/ Team Spirit. WPC Rosie Fox arrives at Sun Hill and develops an immediately antagonistic relationship with PC Eddie Santini. The two are thrown together on an undercover operation for CID, but what initially seems like a possible attraction takes a very sinister turn... This gripping "sexual harassment" four-parter kicked off the show's return to the hour format in 1998 after 11 years in the half-hour format, opening with the feature-length Deep End. Dark, and the ending may well be PC Dave Quinnan's finest hour, as he finally sees through the wool that Eddie's pulled over everyone's eyes and exposes him in an explosive and seriously public manner. Cracking stuff.

Glad you're enjoying it – I'll probably be watching it in a couple of weeks.

The Bill: Cast No Shadow/Betrayal. Investigating an attempted abduction leads DS John Boulton and DC Jim Carver to a crime syndicate in Manchester - where Carver is decidedly surprised to find that one of the top men in the organisation is his former DI, Frank Burnside (Christopher Ellison). Has Burnside really gone to the bad? Or is his current position somehow connected to the mysterious overnight secondment he was pulled from Sun Hill for five years earlier? The Bill's most iconic character returns to the series in this excellent two-parter.

I'm currently steaming through Star Trek TNG Season 3 and apart from a few bum episodes it's been great fun so far, really looking forward to the end of the season and the excellent Best of Both Worlds episode.

I've also just started watching Nashville season one on NowTV, not exactly cult TV but it does have a star from Heroes and one from American Horror Story I have to say I'm enjoying it a lot, it's not high drama - it is just literally fluff to keep you entertained but the music is great fun and the look and feel of the show is good as well.

Best of both worlds has to be one of the greatest if not the greatest cliffhangers in television history.
