I don't know if it is better if you know nothing about the novel or not. If you haven't, you are therefore able to watch it with a completely open mind. On the other hand, if you have read the novel at least once and things that are hinted at or mentioned/shown only briefly so they have a deeper meaning.

It's the case with just about everything adapted from a book though, so you'll probably know the pros and cons from first-hand experience.

I picked up on the references straight away, should think so too because I've read the novel at least once a year since 1991 (same battered copy I paid 95p for too)!

cant say i'm surprised not the first time i've seen/heard a growing man behaving like a little kid. hope someone picked his dummy up!

I watched the first three episodes of The Exorcist thanks guys you didnt steer me wrong so far im loving it. I loved the first use of the theme in the first episode gave me goosebumps i actually started reading the book straight after last night and again today on lunch from work.

its fantastic one of the much better films to be turned into a tv show, with it being a show it adds a lot more than we could get from a film, with me its miles ahead of all the movies-apart from the first of course

Finished season one of star trek TNG but skipped a fair few episodes as quite a few poor and badly aged episodes in the first season (as well as second).
