While they only made two series in black and white in the 60's, there was a misguided attempt to bring the show back (and in colour) between 1988 - 1991

Entitled 'The Munsters Today', the reboot starred John Schuck as Herman, Lee (Catwoman) Meriwether as Lily, Jason Marsden as Eddie, Hilary Van Dyke as Marilyn and Howard Morton as Grandpa

It is best forgotten!

There were also a handful of Munster films:

Munster, Go Home! (1966) - which was produced immediately after the television series completed filming for its original run, and included the original cast with the exception of Marilyn, who was played by Debbie Watson instead of Pat Priest from the series

The Munsters' Revenge (1981) - TV Movie which reunited the original cast members Fred Gwynne, Yvonne De Carlo and Al Lewis. Marilyn was now played by Jo McDonnell and Eddie by K. C. Martel

Here Come the Munsters (1995) - TV Movie featuring Edward Herrmann as Herman, Veronica Hamel as Lily, Robert Morse as Grandpa, Christine Taylor as Marilyn and Mathew Botuchis as Eddie

The Munsters' Scary Little Christmas (1996) - TV Movie with Sam McMurray as Herman, Ann Magnuson as Lily, Bug Hall as Eddie, Sandy Baron as Grandpa and Elaine Hendrix as Marilyn

The only one worth watching is the 1966 one of course

Look, the Callan is coming. I can only write so much before the glass needs replenishing
The New Avengers will provide a few chuckles. And one massive revelation tbh. Woooh mother dearest etc.
Ahem.

Did I mention that I acquired a sizeable amount of 70s Coronation Street? The Xmas '72 episode alone ... the past is a foreign country indeed ....

Titans season 2 , episode 2 enjoyed it but Iain Glen is horribly miscast as Bruce Wayne. Would of made a better Alfred.

Default Callan - The Monochrome Years Part 1

David Callan. Is he the right man for the job? Who can say really ...
We wander through a world that even Harry Palmer would find unseemly. Aided by his rude mechanical Lonely ( Russell Hunter), abetted (sometimes) by the ever oily Meres, our erstwhile "hero" is really put through the ringer this time.
The aura of doubt hangs over the series as a whole, leading to some unsettling moments now, who wif me jaded post modern eyes etc, what they thought then ...
My one grumble with this is that we don't seen enough of Peter Bowles as Meres, as his barely unconcealed violence made for an interesting reading of the part, used as I was to Valentine's more unctious performance of same.
This being the first two discs of the BW Network set.
Back soon .... and mind the lightbulb!
