If you want a good place to start....well....Deep Red is good place, it's the pinnacle of the genre, it's all downhill from there unfortunately.

I think Eyeball would be a good choice for a Martino since it could use a better release. I just hope Shameless could up the picture quality which is less than perfect on the Italian and German (both using same master) dvd's... Did you see Mozart is a Murderer? That's the last giallo he made but I really liked it. I think Rai Trade own the rights. |

I would love to see Borowcyzks Blood of Dr Jeckyll getting a uk release. I dont know if it would still have trouble with the censors? Surely it would fair better now than VTCs butchered print from the early '80s?

Yeah Dr.Jekyll would definitely fare better today going by what was cut previously (cuts listed on the IMDb). Don't know if it would pass completely though as I haven't seen it. Sounds like a bizarre film.

Bizarre, yes, but very entertaining. It has some great euro favs too with Howard Vernon, Patrick Magee and everybodys fav, Udo Kier.

I'm not sure if I would call Dr. Jekyll a giallo... |

No worries mr 420! I guess you could maybe call it giallo-esque. Last edited by bdc; 30th March 2010 at 09:21 PM. |

There is such an "arty" (for want of a better word) vibe to Dr Jekyll And His Women that I could see it passing nowadays. Mind you, it's been a fair while since I saw an uncut print, so I might be forgetting something...but if they'll pass La BĂȘte! |
