I do wonder about The Kindred from time to time - is there an appetite for such a gooey film these days?

Its not just goo Almar ... it has great acting (Rod Steiger for Cliff's sake!), great story and great saleability if you ask me .. package it well and I think you are onto a winner. I do admit that Amanda Pyas (?) woman's British accent is well annoying .. then again, she was in every other film!

I for one would be pre-ordering .. another gem of a forgotten 80s movie.

Uhm,that was Arrow...
These sort of releases should be handled by Arrow imho.

Shameless should serve up some more tasty Euro-goodies!

Last time I watched The Kindred was back in the early 90s on VHS late at night so my re collection is very fuzzy - hance why I thought best to ask as I just recall lots and lots of gooey effects - it certainly didn't lack value for money in that department!

i think the effects for its day .. and what is in effect a low budget day were great. The film punches way above it weight!

The monster in the jar looks a bit Ghoulies, but hey, that was the charm of the 80s! No CGI!!!

Anyway "John's got a half brother .. half brother, half something else!"

What a great quote!

I'm well up for a release of "The Kindred", Lovecraft on speed springs to mind whenever I try to recall it, having not seen it since it's first video release. It is one of the few "monster" films from the 80s that ticks all the right boxes for me.
