Hey guys! So apparently Phantasm V: Ravager might play at Troma's annual film festival, Tromadance! It's on July 29 and 30.

I don't know if this is actually going to happen but I've heard some people at HQ talk about the possibility of it and how it might happen.

If so, this is great for anyone who lives in NY!

It's been about two and a half years since 'Ravager' was announced as complete. It's supposed to be coming out before the year is out.

Here's how I rank the series so far...

I've noticed that a lot of people really don't like the third. Is it because it's far campier than the rest? I mean it's not as serious but it's still a lot of fun.

To me the fourth one feels like a remix of deleted scenes with some neat backstory but not enough substance for a feature film.

I actually like all four but I just consider the third to be the weakest for such reasons as the one you stated. But yeah, it’s still a lot of fun. I think the fourth is the closest to the original in terms of tone and atmosphere.

What I thought was neat about the fourth one is how the deleted scenes from the original seamlessly fit with the new material. The best part was the bizarre, yet chilling, ending with Mike and Reggie getting into the truck and driving off. It felt like Don knew he was going to make three sequels to the first film.

I think all the films are a let down to be honest.

The premise is excellent with the mortuary and the silver globe that burrows into people's heads but they don't play like horror films more camp run arounds. They could have been the equivalent of Hellraiser but end up like horror for The Goonies fans.

Having said that i do own the Phantasm sphere dvd set.

So, I posted earlier that Phantasm V: Ravager might play at TromaDance in NY. I spoke with my boss a few days ago and learned that apparently it's not ready for a release next month so the wait will continue and I apologize if I got any New Yorkers' hopes up!

Still looking forward to this fifth film. Whilst not as gruesome as they could be, I still like them...even the third. At least they never went into space cough...

Hey, I don't know about you, but I think Leprechaun 4 is the best film in the series.

The original and Phantasm II are the best IMO.
