![]() Here's a classic Brit chiller that is always almost forgotten when it comes to films being mentioned with the 'Babysitter in peril' theme. Predating Black Christmas by three years and Halloween by seven,it's a cracking little gem of a film.Very eerie and atmospheric. ![]() Any other fans?

![]() Nice to see this one get a DVD release. I must have seen this on TV over ten years ago and thought it was great. Dennis Waterman plays Susan George's boyfriend....... and Susan George has rarely been better. ![]()

Cracking little film with a gorgeous George and a brilliant Bannen. It was also the first time George Cole and his future Minder Dennis Waterman acted together.
However the only scene they had together was when Cole stepped over Waterman's dead body.
|

I think Fright is a cracking little film, and I've had the ABUS DVD for a while now. I was amazed at how expensive it was going for on eBay due to it being OOP not long ago! ![]() Does anyone know whether the new release from Optimum is remastered in any way, or does it come with any extras? If so I might pick one up. ![]() |

Just posted about this in the other thread, I love this film. It's first class. It's always felt way ahead of its time for me. The atmosphere and the creepiness of the prowler outside at the start is excellent. Peter Collinson directed a movie the year after this called "Straight on till morning" for Hammer and its rubbish in comparison. |

![]() Cheers Vince - It's a shame about the lack of extras. As for Susan George, she is very good in Fright but I prefer her in Straw Dogs and Die Screaming Marianne. |

Black Christmas is a good creepy film, thats for sure. Creeped me out, the first couple of times that I saw this one. Very unsettling film, and so effective too. The ending is so creepy. Watch it with the lights on, thats my advice anyway... I see what you mean now, concerning the similarities of these two films. WHEN A STRANGER CALLS used to s**t me up when I was a kid too. Remember kids, keep those lights on...The motherlicker was in the house the whole time! Freaky... |

![]() Cheers. I really liked her in STRAW DOGS, although the mentality of her character in this was questionable at best. Quirky and immature, cute, but kind of odd. It was an interesting role for sure. makes me wonder how the films Dustin Hoffman character, ever got together with her in the first place? He was very switched on, but as a couple, they were like "Chalk and Cheese", if you understand what I'm getting at here... Yeah, I'm kind of drawn to the Women of cult movies more than any other, at times anyway... |
