Default WOLF CREEK 2005 Greg McClean

Love those so desolate it's terrifying movies?
Where the silence of nothing is more deafening than Marilyn Burn's screaming at the climax of TCM?

Then you must be a fan of this 2005 hit from Down Under!

Oz came back with a bang in the mid noughties with this and films like Undead,Rogue,Storm Warning,Feed and Black Water.

So,with the much anticipated (by me anyway!) sequel to Wolf Creek due on Blu Ray in September,I figured it's time to revist the original.

So without further ado, discuss all Wolf Creek here?

Any other fans?

I really enjoyed the first one in the cinema but as with so many films I've not seen it since despite having the dvd since it was released.

I watched the first one years ago and remember it for being instantly forgettable with nothing happening! Never bothered trying to re-watch it but others seem to really like it. I felt the same about Martyrs, another 90 minutes of my life lost forever!

I felt the same as you in reference to Wolf Creek, but really enjoyed Martyrs.

I never liked 'Wolf Creek'. The first half seemed to drag, with a bunch of the usual kids just kind of wandering around, waiting for the brutal pay-off, which didn't seem to actually pay-off when it came. I watched it twice, hoping that I'd missed something initially, because I could tell the makers were going for that atmosphere of bleak dread I usually have affinity with. But I just couldn't get into it. I might check out the sequel, though.

'Martyrs' is a whole other realm, so much better in the endurance horror stakes and more besides.

I bought and watched Wolf Creek on DVD when it was first released. I thought it was boring.
Like Boo Radley, I don't get the love for Martyrs either - I preferred Inside and Switchblade Romance.

Im a fan of this one and Martyrs. Really didn't get Martyrs on my first watch but thought it was a masterpiece on my second. Same with Evil Dead 1 and so many others.

I'm not a fan of Wolf Creek, but really enjoy Aussie stuff like Mad Max 1 & 2, Turkey Shoot, Razorback, Long Weekend, etc.
