Tiger on Beat aka Tiger on the Beat (1988)
Solid action comedy with some excellent fights/action scenes.
Also lots of "bullet ballets"!
Chow and Lee are great as the two mis-matched cops.

This really needs a newly remastered release!
I wonder if the Universe and HKL versions are better than the Joy Sales Legendary Collection disc?

Cracking 'n' crazy Chainsaw clash in the final reel imo and you gotta love Chow Yun Fat's 'Shotgun-on-a-rope' scene. My HKL DVD is still sealed and i reckon Cine Asia will probably reissue the relevant title sooner or later. The sequel's terrible though from what i recall bar the Conan Lee stunt that went wrong and was left in the film!

Watched Enter The Fat Dragon, it was a really poor copy, but it was fantastic anyway. Sammo Hung seemed to channel the essence of Bruce Lee in his fighting and I even enjoyed the comedy. It was much better that Skinny Tiger, Fatty Dragon, which I also watched recently.

My favourite part was when Sammo destroyed the Bruce Lee impersinator and all his lackeys.

To call this film Brucesploitation seems to do it a little bit of a dervice, but it is eaily the best in this genre. Enter The Fat Dragon is vying with Eastern Condors as my favourite Sammo film.

Anyone know if there is a good copy of dvd floating around, preferably Anamorphic?

I recall the above sequence being the highpoint of ETFD too and i think said scene may have been Sammo's visual statement on what he thought of the myriad of 'little dragon' impostors cashing in on Lee's popularity at the time. Yours truly first caught the film via a lousy looking VHS bootleg back in the mid-'90s and haven't seen the movie again since. A nice DVD release would indeed go down a treat.

"Bruce Lee is my idol! Don't you ever insult my idol!!"

And what about Lee Hoi San as a blacked-up oriental take on Jim Kelly?

Another slice of Sammo i wouldn't mind watching again is Carry On Pickpocket with 'the portly kicker' appearing alongside Frankie Chan. It's been many moons since my initial viewing of this rarity too.

The version I saw looked like a vhs transfer. The subtitles were almost unreadable at some points.

I wonder if Arrow will ever get round to putting out some kung fu....

hint, hint...

A nice thought to be sure but it's doubtful seeing as Arrow seem to shy away from showing interest in issuing martial arts movies.

The only relevant offering that springs to mind is Goodbye Bruce Lee, His Last Game Of Death and it has to be said that Arrow's DVD of this title boasts superb PQ for such a cheap film. By far the best looking Bruce Li release i've ever seen.

Watched the Japanese 2-disc dvd of Jackie Chan's First Strike. Pretty average for a Chan flick. He doesn't really fit the James Bond-style movie. The ladder fight was pretty cool though.

Don't suppose you'd be willing to sell or trade that DVD at all?
