Yes I think when dvd came along it was such a kick to finally be able to watch recorded content in the same quality as we were used to with broadcasting.

Even LD didn't quite reach the standard of broadcast tv so it was fantastic to watch shows on discs that were as good as we had ever been able to watch them at anytime.
DVD was such an improvement over VHS which had always been crap that we felt it was a real treat .

Not forgetting the ease of use , chapters etc .

Bluray is not such a leap.
Bluray also not helped by the inferior transfers we sometimes get and also the extra definition shows up the grain and other things we're not used to seeing on home video.

I don't get as excited by a Bluray release like I did with dvd but I still prefer to watch the classics like the Harryhausen films in HD if the option is there.

DVD's are increasingly worthless so rather than sell them now for peanuts I'm hanging onto mine in the hope that in 10 years when many will be deleted I'll get a decent price and they may also be of nostalgic interest in the same way as LD's can be today

There will be huge amount of material never released on Bluray like most British tv shows of the last 50 years (bar the ITC shows of the 60's) and a few others.
You understood me just about right...

Also... I´m betting many priceless extras and special editions will never see the light of day on blu-ray...

My Hong Kong Legends, Dragon Dynasty collections... Sure, Dragon Dynasty have released some Blu-Rays but from what I´ve heard they are all upconverted.

Aw, but I liked the sluts and assess. Still, very nice artwork. I hope the print is just as good.

Great cover, as expected. Arrow releases have all great covers.

Indeed - as recently as 1999 a UK company importing this title on DVD for UK customers had their haul of Tenebrae confiscated by Customs. I know, I was waiting for a copy and was then informed I wouldn't be having it!

I've only got the A-Film Dutch Shadows DVD, I'll definitely be buying Arrow's edition of Tenebrae regardless of whether it's a BD or DVD release.

Fantastic.
Although I love the 'usual cut throat blue head' artwork, which Tenebrae is synonomous with, this is brilliant.A close call between this and Martin for Rick's finest yet.

Looks like I'll be buying 2 again.

Curious to see that most places have this up for release before Inferno (on 26.07) - is this a predicted estimate, or is it incorrect and Tenebrae will be released after Inferno?
