You're definitely going blind! I'm not one who believes there's a jump between every DVD - HD transfer but in this case there is and even judging by these screen grabs you can see how much sharper the Arrow BD is!

The deeper blacks are actually destroying every kind of detail, see for example the wall on the last shot, the difference in the red dress of Irene or the lack of illumination of the fire. It seems to me the AB is slightly boosted.
Actually it the 2 images look kinda different to when I saw them earlier! Odd!

Guess the Arrow release does look better.

Change your monitor - the difference is very notable from this vantage point!

I saved the two shots onto my pc and when I open them they still look the exactly the same. (and they were both called Inferno (dvd) when I saved them). It's weird cos I seem to be the only one having this issue. But on dvdbeaver I can see clearly that there is a difference between the Arrow and the BU. So that's kinda strange cos my pc and my monitor are not even a year old.

Oh now I see the post by Springjack was edited. When I looked there was only the big shot of the BU dvd and the small one of the BU dvd. Now it has the Arrow BD shot underneath it. That wasnt the case when I made my comment

Am I missing something ere? Aren't the shots comparisons of the 2 DVDs and NOT the Blu-ray????

If it is the Blu-ray, I am sorry but the difference isn't that great.

However if they are the 2 DVD comparisons, then yes the Arrow one is the sharper ... I am sure the post has been edited as the images do look different to when I first posted.

Bah now I am confused!

I've had another look and I stand by my original comment about still images not reflecting (entirely) the quality of the moving picture but the Arrow screencap does look a lot sharper than the BU one.

It is also my understanding that the comparisons are for the DVD only.

I think the general consensus here is to wait to we see it for ourselves, and then we can make a fair and honest opinion. Pictures on'tinternet don't really help matters at all as we all have differing specs, resolutions, graphics cards and monitors.

Let's wait and see it in the flesh guys eh?
