The audience reaction at the GFT will likely be one of uproarious laughter - it's a very, very funny film.
Your prediction was 100% spot on Calum. I don't think I've ever seen a film where the audience laughed so much.

Have to agree with everybody on here. I had a fantastic time on Sunday!! Loved it from start to finish (the white russians from the bar were simply divine!! )

My personal highlight was seeing Demons on the big screen. Also a big thumbs up to the GFT for holding the event and doing such a quick and efficient job when the sound went a bit wonky at the start of Demons. I used to work at Filmhouse in Edinburgh and know what an absolute head-ache these things can be. You can always rely on a genre crowd to be very polite and patient when these things occur.

No big loss about Mastorakis not turning up. I preferred the Goat and the SHAMELESS Edinburgh B-Team plug!

Got my Demons dvd signed by Sergio (very nice chap) even though I'd come unprepared without a pen (thanks to the guy with the Dellamorte Dellamore laserdisc for lending me his!).

The best part was the fact I went with two friends who'd never heard of Herschell Gordon Lewis, never seen Island of Death, didn't know anything about the orginal Expose and hadn't seen Demons before!! Suffice to say, there are now two new converts to Cult-labs and these amazing events.

All in all a great day and night. Now....I wonder if there'll be a screening of Deep Red anytime soon...

Oh! And it was a real coup inviting Francesca Ciardi to the event!! She's great!

Let's hope you do!

The good news of course is that attendance was excellent (considering there was a football game and it was a Sunday who could have expected that even Island of Death and the early-screening HG Lewis doc would have packed in so many people?) and with a sold out closing showing of Demons the GFT is happy to encourage another event.

Thanks to everyone who came along and once again allowed us to have a successful event!

Great stuff - look forward to seeing your friends on the forum!!

Definitely glad the goat went down a storm! It was my personal highlight predominantly because I've never heard such a deafening roar of laughter when I introduced "the star of the film"!

Default I Had an Awesome time!

Enjoyed the HG Lewis Documentary very much, helped to fill the void made by the delayed Video Nasties doc i am very much looking forward to seeing. Stalker/Expose not so much... fine performances...especially from the cat puppet stuck in the bog.

Island of Death was a piece of shit but hillarious like Hired to Kill another one of his soap style so bad it's good flicks. Demons was probably my highlight despite giving me memories of uni like hiring demons from the uni library and watching it and the rest of the argento boxset it came in, instead of doing work.

Great guests as well. Looking forward to the next one and hopefully i will have company this time. Hope Jonathan didn't take offence to my island of death remake question. C

PS: Any Edinburgh events coming soon?

Hi Colin

Francesca appeared at the Jekyll bar yesterday and singed autographs after a B-Team screening of Cannibal Holocaust. Any forthcoming Edinburgh events would be tied in with the Jekyll and the B-Team as they are both good pals of mine.

Glad you enjoyed the Glasgow event: we have some good stuff in mind for the next one!

Great day had here too, the eclectic mix of films worked really well...there really was something for everyone (including those goat goosers out there) over the course of the day and the guests were lovely too, cheers for that Calum!

Cheers also for everyone who joined in the games at the aftershow....made the projector fault and me almost electrocuting myself on the speaker cable all worthwhile!

Talking of which) maybe someone who braved the final frames of the aftershow can tell me if someone did actually poledance during the gallery or did i imagine it?!!?

Roll on next time! (oh and some less frayed cabling).

Another event I'm sure will be a definite (up to Calum to organise!) to give some perspective the previous Sunday @ the same time we had 18 people in cinema 2...& the punters were great..I've had to deal with some arsey customers @ work (of course the customer is always right! ) but on Sunday they were all brilliant & a pleasure to be around
