Another wee update to say we'll be kicking this event off with the UK premiere screening of Frank Henenlotter's freaking fantastic documentary HERSCHELL GORDON LEWIS: THE GODFATHER OF GORE:



Frank gave me a copy of this to watch just a couple of months ago when I filmed him for our forthcoming feature 42nd Street Memories. I loved it, raved to Frank about what a great piece of entertainment it is... and it's easily one of my ten best films of 2010. Really excited to be showing this. You guys are gonna love it.

Well here's the final film! At 8pm we'll be rounding off the evening with a big screen showing of Lamberto Bava's DEMONS.

And you'll be geting two-for-one guests on this because before DEMONS we'll be continuing the video nasty vibe by showing a trailer reel from 1980's CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST followed by a Q and A session with the star Francesca Ciardi (AKA Faye Daniels) making her first UK public appearance.



Then we'll show DEMONS in all its gory glory:



Followed by a special appearance, and Q and A, with Mr. Sergio Stivaletti - the effects man behind DEMONS, DEMONS 2, PHENOMENA, OPERA, THE CHURCH, CEMETERY MAN, THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, MOTHER OF TEARS.... you bloody name it! He also, of course, directed WAX MASK, taking over from the late Lucio Fulci.

So: one day, a quartet of guests, four films - all for £22 or £18 conc. No autograph fees or anything - come, drink, watch movies, shop at the Arrow stall, win some freebies, enjoy yourselves. As always we aim to make sure you get your money's worth!

Next week if not end of this week - figured I'd better let you lot know the line up before the GFT did!

As an aside, can everyone PLEASE let other people know about this - post the line up and guests on other forums if you can! We want to make sure people keep coming to these and, fingers crossed, we'll have another sell out

It's also a great warm up for FrightFest in February (which Phill, you should seriously come back up for).

Thanks Almar! Special thanks to Nick, of course, for using his Italian charm on Mr. Stivaletti and also, as ever, to Alex at Arrow as well as Expose producer Jonathan Sothcott (who will also be making an appearance).

Another note - to those in Edinburgh, my friend Adam at the Jekyll and Hyde Bar will be doing a wee one-off mini event on Monday 25th October. As anyone who frequents the bar will know, every Monday it is the home of the Edinburgh B-Team who screen a couple of films, offer free popcorn and generally natter about all things movies.

Well on Monday 25th they'll be showing the (animals-free) version of Cannibal Holocaust and Francesca will be making an appearance there too. I think there's a minor door charge (£3) and it will be a nice wee cozy evening.
