I agree. It's a fantastic film, and the Arrow Blu-ray is really good. You get both cuts and quite a few special features. AV quality is alright, too.

Greetings!

I initially read that as "I think this review is excellent" and thought "Oh come on Nos, that's a bit conceited of you!"

And yeah, the Arrow BD is very good.

Yes, that would have been extremely conceited and, like I said in my review, it is a great film and near-perfect release.

Actually, while we're on it I think that review is excellent! Really hope you get round to reviewing the more recent Arrow and Shameless titles on there.

I have quite a few reviews on my 'to do' list, including Red Scorpion, Four Flies on Grey Velvet and Dellamorte Dellamorte.

[QUOTE=Nosferatu@Cult Labs;237797]Some of the 'reviews' on Amazon should be taken with a large pinch of salt as they can be read before the item has been released and by people with an agenda.

I think the release is excellent /QUOTE]

That Amazon's reviews shouldn't be taken too seriously doesn't surprise me, half the time they don't even match the product. But there are comments even on this thread suggesting there are issues with this release. The biggest worry being the out of sync subtitles. I've also read about a pixelation error about forty mins in and how the added scenes in the directors cut haven't been inserted very smoothly. I'm not obsessive enough to worry too much about things like that but the subtitles thing does bother me.

Yeah, Amazon reviewers can be ridiculous. I had enough the other day and started commenting on some of the ridiculous reviews. A frightening amount of people leave reviews before they have even seen the disc but still manage to pass comment on the picture quality

I'd have to go back and look at the subtitles as I didn't notice anything obvious when I was watching it or, at least, it didn't annoy me. There is a pixelation issue but it's very brief so not a huge issue. I've not seen the Blue Underground edition but looking at screen grabs, both are taken from the same source.

As i said I'm not particularly bothered by this pixelation thing, as i understand it it's a real blink and you'll miss it kind of thing. It's just the subtitle issue that concerns me. Be nice to be assured by the majority that it's nothing.

I'd need to watch the whole film again to check but, as I have unwatched copy around (the ArrowDrome DVD), I will do that sometime soon.
