Hopefully mine will arrive in the next lot of post. Either this or Tenebrae are my favourite Argento, I can never decide.

I've been having a think and I would probably put Suspiria down as my favourite with Tenebrae, Phenomena and Deep Red fighting it out for the #2 spot.

Nice review there Nos ... could you tell me please, is the international release (the shorter version is my favourite, without the comedy elements and the switching languages) in DTS HD too?

There is a pending update to the review that will clarify this but I may as well do it here as well. The director's cut has Italian soundtracks in DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 and Dolby Digital 2.0 Mono, plus DD 2.0 stereo English whereas the theatrical cut only has the option of DD 2.0 stereo English. Hope that makes sense.

Never mind. The horrid switching between the English and Italian audio on the AB R1 DVD kinda spoiled the movie for me. I know it's complete, but not as much fun to watch. The extra footage kinda ruins the pace of the film IMHO.

I like the extra footage as it makes Marc and Gianna much more rounded characters and, as I mentioned in my review, adds to the whole idea of Argento dealing with Italy's fascist past by having a Jewish character killed off early on -- with the cut down funeral scene, you don't really get that much of an insight into Helga Ullmann. It is a shame that the stereo and mono tracks aren't LPCM or DTS-HD Master Audio but the Dolby Digital mixes are very good.
