im back from a short break after leaving you in the very capable hands of bizarre eye (thank you very much) to bring you one great release and 3 not so great releases.

the best release for the week will without a doubt be the much anticipated silent night, deadly night released by arrow.

Silent Night, Deadly Night (1984)

"You've made it through Halloween, now try and survive Christmas!"

Slay bells ring, are you listening? In the streets, blood is glistening in this Yuletide tale of terror! Previously banned by the BBFC, the seminal Santa slasher is back with a vengeance!

After years of abuse at the hands of tyrannical nuns, Billy's finally flipped! Dressed as St. Nick, the teenager heads back to the oppressive orphanage of his childhood to exact his bloody revenge, "punishing" anyone who gets in his way!

Boycotted by legions of angry parents when it was released in America, this festive fright flick has courted controversy ever since and is presented here uncut for the first time ever in the UK!

Director Charles E. Sellier Jr

Studio: Arrow Films

Grave Of The Vampire (1974)

In a dark, deserted graveyard, populated almost exclusively by rotting corpses, lies a 400 year old creature more undead than alive. It's been some time since he last fed and now he's hungry again... but this time he wants something more than blood!

Disturbed by an amorous couple he ventures from the grave to bequeath his horrific legacy; killing the boyfriend and planting the seed for his son and heir - a half-breed doomed to live in purgatory.

Years later, understanding his true nature, the half-human vampire seeks to wreak his vengeance against his blood-sucking father, culminating in a bloodthirsty and apocalyptic confrontation that goes straight for the jugular!

Director John Hayes

Studio: Cornerstone Media

Phantom Of The Opera (1925)

At the Opera of Paris, a mysterious phantom threatens a famous lyric singer, Carlotta and thus forces her to give up her role (Marguerite in Faust) for unknown Christine Daae. Christine meets this phantom (a masked man) in the catacombs, where he lives. What's his goal? What's his secret?

Director Rupert Julian

Studio: Cornerstone Media

The Toolbox Murders (1978)

Produced in 1978 "The Toolbox Murders" made the "USA's most disturbing movie list" and was vilified by the nations media. It was later released in the UK in a gore-filled double bill with Zombie Flesh Eaters at cinemas across the country. Following it's success in the cinema "Toolbox" was unleashed on video to a huge media backlash, was subsequently banned and placed on the video nasty list in 1982. It has taken all these years to gain a certificate.

The Toolbox Murders tells the story of a hooded killer who commits the most atrocious crimes in American history using a nailgun, drill and other implements from his toolbox.

Now you have the chance to see this film on DVD and make up your own mind about one of the most controversial films ever made.

Director Dennis Donnelly

Studio: Cornerstone Media

Isn't Grave Of The Vampire written by, none other than, Mr. Sopranos himself, David Chase?

Im gonna get The Tool Box Murders.

Beyond Terror seem hellbent on releasing VIPCO's old catalouge. Is Mike Lee anything to do with them.?

I hope if they release FEROX they resubmit the uncut print to the BBFC as VIPCO's old pre cut Replay print was appalling.

Great Blog this BS. I look forward to it every week.

    Keep up the great work.
