Posted 5th February 2010 at 11:39 AM by Stephen@Cult Labs - Reggae sometimes gets a bad rep because when it's processed through expensive studio technology it can come out sounding bland and weak. UB40 did a lot of damage.
For me its at its best when its got a little crackle and hiss and the lo-fi production and homemade electronics of late 60s and early 70s Reggae, much of it recorded on equipment that was archaic even at the time, is what makes it sound so appealing.Posted 5th February 2010 at 01:54 PM by Sam@Cult Labs
