Halloween

I know Halloween's well gone but I've only just recovered from my hangover so I'm blogging this now. How did I celebrate Halloween, I hear you cry?
Well, one of Liverpool's premier CAMRA pubs was hosting a German beer festival so I went to that and generally filled up on German beer plus one Halloween-themed ale entitled Headless Horseman. All in all it was pretty awesome. This was then topped by staggering home, ordering pizza, drinking Fosters and watching Halloween and Halloween 2 back to back.
How have I never noticed before how utterly pants Halloween 2 is?! The continuity between the two films is rubbish, the gore quotient is way too high, the acting is low-grade and Jamie Lee Curtis has been reduced to a practically silent role. I always thought Halloween 2 was quite good but apparently I was completely and utterly mistaken.
Luckily, by the point that I realised this I was completely bladdered and so it failed to ruin Halloween for me. Especially as I had no trick-or-treaters so I got to eat the massive bag of Haribo I'd bought them all by myself.
Hurrah!

But you're right, loops, at least it wasn't the remake!Posted 3rd November 2009 at 09:19 PM by Sarah@Cult Labs -
