Picked these up for ?1 earlier.
In 1983 when they were both published they would have set you back the sum of ?3.50 combined.
40 years later i say that's a win.

Particularly pleased about Lair as these gold and silver inlay covers were from the time i was reading them growing up, love them, same with the old Stephen King lightning covers.

Now I have all the Rats books as I remember them.

I own another copy of lair but was after the two header i grew up with.
More recent covers are so bland.

This was my previous copy.

I mean that looks like a book of poems about Autumn, where's the action at?
It's a horror novel, get a grip.

Anyway.

Apparently Psycho 2 is completely different from the film. so that should be interesting.

I've seen the film and associated extra features (commentaries and interviews), so most of the book, particularly a major plot point about a third of the way through, was revealed by the contributors. I won't repeat the spoiler here.

Another couple of charity shop scores today.
I'm a sucker for retro books, always been the same, there's an energy to them.
Anyway ?1 for the pair.
Had Sepulchre back in the day but never got round to reading it.

I opened Effigies on a random page and this is the paragraph I read.

'Hypocrites!' Freddie said. " Goddamn, mother-****ing hypocrites! You're all alike aren't you? Whether you wear clerical collars or go around with your tits hanging out of bikinis. **** you! **** you all!'.

Bumped this one up to the next read book as that's just kinda magnificently warped. Lol.

Oh it's all gone sideways.
