I tried to read Game of Thrones myself didn't finish book 1 but if it does go different from the show I might jump back in. Sometimes I find it hard to read after watching the show or film because all I have in my head is the show or film and reading is about creating the world's and characters in your head and the joy is sort of taken out of it for me when it's already implanted there beforehand. Maybe that's just me.

I have done that a few times, watched a film and not realising it was from a book and then read it to find both are a bit different.

Game of Thrones is worth sticking with. The first book is very similar to season one, the show runners stayed very faithful, but as the book series progresses it becomes quite different. I always bring this up as an example but the way the identity of Reek is revealed in the book had me so shocked, you couldn’t do that on the show because as soon as you see him you know who he is.

Books 2 and 3 share the same timeline too, but they are from the perspective of different protagonists which is good!

Near 3/4s through James Herbert's Domain and I am kinda remembering why I changed books, nuclear apocalypse start which was tense, fight for survival and seeking shelter. This novel does have three chapters, picturing how a nuclear attack would open up buildings there would be more attacks but there has been two Rat attacks written, there is quite alot of tension that is well written but not exactly on the edge of my seat or sat on the floor just yet...

Been reading The Widow: The Arachnoid Chronicles Book 1 for the last hour or so, I don't think I have heard of the novelist but this is certainly a enjoyable read of cross genetics with spiders that does seem like it's been done before with the film Spiders II but a bit more interesting. This was a change to what I originally planned to read after finishing Domain.

I've just read this amazing book and I'm still reeling from some of the words and their roots. Although this is a VERY comfortable read it gives us SO much information, in really bite size chunks, that it will be on my desk-side shelf for years to come.

32/10 for being the very first book I have read through, from cover to cover (and with no pictures), for years and years!!!

Finished The Hunter and The Wolf book 2 and 3 of The Arachnoid Chronicles, I'd recommend these if you are not squeamish of spiders.

Decided to Read Ghost House By Clare McNally, usual thing, empty house for ages, family move in and the house has a history. Half way through it and it's decent enough but think the (fictional) story was inspired by Amityville Horror (this book was written in 1978-1979) and probably inspired American Horror Story: Murder House.
