I wouldn't hold your breath to it being any good. Ten years is a long time and his thinking / writing style may have changed during the process.

It'll be a massive let down if it doesn't live up to my expectations

What did you think of Mr B. Gone?

As his first proper horror novel since 2001's excellent in my opinion, Cold Heart Canyon, i found it a major disappointment.

I haven't read any of his recent books tbh, think the last "new" book was Weaveworld, however long ago that was, I prefer his older stuff (Books of Blood, Cabal etc)

Same here rik, tried some of his newer stuff and just couldn't get into it, all the crazy shit from his earlier books seemed to have gone, just hope scarlet gospels is back to his older work

Cold Heart Canyon is worth having a look at. It has all the Barker trademarks of strong sex, hard gore and a mind bending storyline. I raced through it.
Rik, keirarts and trebor8273 like this.

Finally, after 20+ books, have almost finished Sharpe's Devil by Bernard Cornwell. Bringing an end to the Sharpe series. I bloody love e-readers, for about 10 years was down to 2-3 books a year. Since the start of 2013 i've read 40 Discworld novels, 5 of my friend Jim Websters books, now over 20 Sharpe novels. Great stuff. Next up the complete DYING EARTH by JACK VANCE.
