Action Comics #1000 will feature the return of Superman's red trunks. And it's about time. I'm fed up with this retcon of comic character costumes and Superman never looked as good without the classic costume. Cue all the jokes again about Superman wearing his underwear over his costume, Ha ha......YAWN! The Batman and Dr Fate costumes have also suffered as well as any other hero that wore trunks. Many comic heroes have had costume changes. Female heroes have had some worse changes, mostly due to now being thought of as sexist. Ms Marvel, Spider-Woman, Batgirl, Wonder Woman have all suffered and now some of these costumes look horrendous. At one time Wonder Woman was completely covered because you know we can't have her in star covered pants showing her legs anymore can we? Also how can she fight in that top because it would fall down? Many arguments have been had over whether heroes can fight in capes. high heels etc... These are COMIC characters. | superspider.jpg SUPERMAN VS THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN (1976) Lex Luthor and Doctor Octopus join forces when they meet in prison. Lex disguises himself as Superman and attacks Lois Lane and Mary Jane and holds them hostage. Spider-man fights the real Superman with a blast of enhanced strength given him by Lex until reason prevails and they figure out that they both have been duped. Lex and Otto have taken control of a satellite which blasts the earth with severe weather conditions and Lois and MJ were the bait for a ransom.. Terrific team up of DC and Marvel titans. No explanation of how the two universes are together, they just get on with it and exist in the same universe together and even know of each other. Guest starring Lois Lane, Mary Jane, J.J Jameson, Jimmy Olsen, Betty Brant, Ned Leeds, Robbie Robertson, Morgan Edge, Perry White and of course Peter Parker and Clark Kent.  |
