What did you think of it? Most people online hated it, but I think it's really good, I watched episode 9 the other day and it keeps getting better and better each week. It's so far removed from the novel that it feels like a totally different story, much like how very different the Walking Dead is from the comics

I really liked it, what pisses me off is straight away people say Simpsons rip off without looking into the history of the book

Yeah, SK was pissed off when The Simpsons film came out at roughly the same time as his novel, he had the idea for it back in the 70's, but lacked the resources to research it properly, so technically the Simpsons ripped him off!
I'd suggest reading the novel first before diving into the series otherwise you wont enjoy it as much

Not familiar with either The Dark Tower or Under The Dome, most of my
Stephen King reading was done in the mid 90's to early 00's. The Cell was my last
Stephen King reading experience. Since then I've focused mainly on movie related books.
Anyone know why his son is called 'Joe Hill' and not 'Joe King'?

His real name is Joe Hillstrom King, but to have his own identity and not be labled as Stephen King's son all the time, he goes by the name Joe Hill

I have great memories of reading that on a beach in Portugal 10 years ago. I don't remember all that much about Portugal but The Tommyknockers remains one of my very favourite SK novels... Stephen King is big rock n' roll fan, he references songs, and bands right throughout his books, and long before I became a Grateful Dead fan, I knew "Captain Trips" only a the killer flu virus in Night Surf and then The Stand. Later on I discovered Captain Trips was a nickname of Jerry Garcia bestowed on him for his prodigious use of LSD. I love those strange little connections in life...

He's also a pretty accomplished guitarist, which is always a good thing in my book
