cant really agree with that, apart from the opening 10 minutes Aug Und just bored me rigid, and anyway Mermaid in a manhole more rank than both haha...in fact id say that The Little Mermaid is worse...

I am interested to see what happens with the CH blu-ray release.

I don't particularly like the animal cruelty in Cannibal Holocaust, the thought that those poor animals died for entertainment BUT to say it offends me to the point that I won't watch it would be very hypocritical of me. Animals are killed every day for food, fashion and sport and I think we are all guilty of exploiting animals to some extent unless you are living a hardcore vegan lifestyle.

I probably would be happy to watch the film sans animal cruelty, but only if absolutely everything else in the film was left in tact. Unfortunately I can't see the BBFC passing some of the scenes in the film, such as the wooden dildo/spiked mudball scene and rapes scenes given their policies on sexual violence. Shame really.

I agree, I would hope the film remains in-tact sans the animal cruelty.
Otherwise, it will lose some of its impact.
Will still be a must-buy....Just hoping the BBFC let it through

It'll be interesting to see what happens at the BBFC if only the animal scenes are removed and everything else is submitted intact. I still think there will be cuts to some of the scenes of sexualised violence.

Was talking about CH with fellow labber Bruty the other day. He had never seen it so lent him my R1 edition. I asked him whether he would watch the animal friendly version or the full version ... he would give both a spin he told me. Upon returning to work he told me he had watched the full version and he says it turned his stomach and he thought he had become de-sensitised to stuff like that. Apparently not.

Certainly not for everyone.

I agree.
The rape with the dildo would deffo be cut.
Its a shame though as I would love a fully intact animal friendly blu from Shameless.

BBFC sucks!

I'm not sure who this BBFC censored release of Cannibal Holocaust is going to appeal to.The type of person who buys the film will know whether they're buying an uncut or cut version of it.Sorry for sounding negative, just voicing my opinion.

No one knows if this version will be the subject of BBFC-mandated cuts as it is a brand-new edit of the film supervised by Ruggero Deodato who has long regretted the animal violence in this film. There will be some scenes to which the BBFC would object, but we don't know they will be in Deodato's new version of Cannibal Holocaust.

No need to be sorry. I'm sure there will be people who'll avoid it like the plague because it's not the original version, and others who'll pick it up to see an alternate version.
