BBFC Problem Films - Page 31

Well they do sometimes, I've asked the BBFC in the past if they would pass certain films uncut, although they won't say something like "it would definitely pass uncut now" they would say "it's much less likely to be cut today" but they can never say for sure unless they see the film again. This is of course regarding problematic titles. In most cases we know only too well if the film would pass uncut today.

They told me that Fight for Your Life was unlikely to be banned today. Actually it's fairly obvious that it wouldn't but they don't like to say it definitely wouldn't just in case.

I remember now, Loops, a scene in Franco's The Demons that showed something quite similar, if not idenitical. It happened during a torture scene. This was passed uncut fairly recently. Unfortunately I haven't seen the film for a few years now so I can't remember if the shot was a close up or a long shot. The closer the camera the more likely they will cut it.

Very nicely put there, Vince. I have to admit I do like Death Wish 2 (the cut version) but can't stand I Spit. Sorry I know there are fans of the film here but that's just my opinion.

I prefer DW3 of the sequels though DW2 is pretty good stuff. I first saw the film (heavily cut) on the cinema and quite enjoyed it. The uncut rape scene is just shocking though. I prefer the cut version.

I hated I Spit and still do. House On The Edge did nothing for me either.

I like House on the Edge of the Park. Its better than Body Count and Phantom of Death.

Personally, I very much prefer "I spit..." to "Death Wish 2", not the least because the victim is committing the revenge herself without the need for another vigilante entering the scene

I see where the problems for some are coming from, but- just as a comparison- I'd rather see the BBFC passing an uncut "I spit..." than an uncut "House on the Edge of the Park", which is a conflcting film even for me on some levels.

Then again, what do I know about the BBFC's sensibilities from my Helsinki perspektive!

I have only ever seen cut versions of DW 2 and I Spit but out of the two i prefer DW 2. I dont hate ISOYG grave like some people do i just think its quite boring.

Pete i'm suprised at how strict the german censors are considering some of the movies that come from there. I remeber a friend gave me a german porno and porn mag and i have never seen or read anything more depraved in my life!
