Aww that's a pity. A Shameless FULL shelf would have looked superb!

That would explain why the Italiano stuff was slightly better quality than their American releases. They MUST have been ripped from VHS....Jesus,anyone seen the state of their SHOCKWAVES or THE SLAYER?

They used to own the rights to most of the american stuff but i heard the rights expired in the late 90's.

Shock Waves and The Slayer are of excellent quality!

I've just revisited Vipco's The Bogey Man and the quality is stunning. Never before has the film looked so good through snow and grain.

I read on another site - think it was dvd times, that Argent had access to the Surf Film library. I have just checked their site and they have loads of great films just waiting to be put out on dvd.

In theory it's nice and easy... a library of titles is one thing - actual materials are another and then you run into issues like joint ownerships and so on. Add to that a lot of them are real curios you'd struggle to get them stocked and sell enough copies. If only it were more like a sweetie shop. This is why the video cassette age was a lot more fun!

Any news on distribution in Italy of titles as Baba Yaga and Le Orme (through Kultvideo etc...)?
