I thought the BBC rescoring was quite an interesting experiment. It was a good example on how music can change a film. Some scenes lost their intensity and impact and the pacing seemed completely different.

Refn's original version is far superior though, perhaps the BBC scored version would make a good extra or something.

As for the film, I liked it, but I much prefer Only God Forgives.

As a huge fan of the film Drive, I gave the BBC showing a chance. What it illustrates is that when someone knows what they're doing and chooses songs to emotionally resonate with what's going on on screen, it's a beautiful thing. Zane Lowe hadn't a clue.
The Drive workprint was better and that had different music. The irony was Cliff Martinez thought that the temp score (borrowed from The Social Network among others) was so good he based his score on the beats from those tracks.
Kudos to the BBC for allowing someone to try it. On it's own, the Chvrches track is great, but I much prefer Nightcall, by Kavinsky and Lovefoxxx.
