They're still sticking to the volumes then? Can't they do the same in Australia and release them as volumes and in a HUUUUUUGE box set? Also is it 32 episodes again or a few more?

Oh and regarding Wentworth, it actually made me want to work in a prison when I was little. Not anymore mind but it used to look like a fun job to have.

Yes it seems that way, Freemantle have really ballsed up the Prisoner release over here. Most hardcore fans like me have already bought the Aussie DVD's, as Freemantle took so long to decide if they were even realeasing it in the UK. The UK release is much better looking than the Aussie one though, just a shame Freemantle wouldn't allow Shock access to the proper master tapes like with the Best Of's. The image quality on these releases varies incredably, I'm on to episodes past 445 and the last one I watched looked positively VHSey! If the sales do well we might get the UNCUT Edna Pearson storyline here, the Aussie DVD's are all cut.

Well the problem I've found is that rather than buy them in volumes I'd rather just have the whole lot and then I know I have it in its entirety without the unwanted stress of the company discontinuing the series because of financial problems or whatever. To get the "biggest box set in the world" I'd need a spare £600 (at least!!) and I never have that kind of money to spend.

So we're looking at 6 months per volume for the UK sets? It's gonna take years to get it all over here at this rate I really hope they either a) release them faster, b) up the number of episodes per volume or c) release it in a full set like in Australia.

I don't know why Freemantle didn't decide on releasing the Volumes as yearly blocks, like other TV shows are. Volume 1 should have been episodes 1-82, Volume 2 episodes 83-165 etc the way they were broadcast in Australia. It would make more sense to me and include the end of season cliffhanger!

One key problem is the BBFC fees - to do everything in one great big load would be a giant leap of faith and you can do all that then take it to the teenagers buying for the main stores and they just go... nah!

And we should move this debate to the Prisoner thread now!

Still waiting on materials (it's like they've been super glued to someones desk!) so they can be assessed but that's certainly the avenue Shameless are grubbing about in!

Well that's the problem - not clapped eyes on them yet so any comment would be guesswork. It's frustrating!

I seem to recall Redemption wanted to release it but gave up due to the elements being in really bad shape. Out of curiosity do Shameless have accesS to the same catalog that Redemption had ?
