Steam have a big Independence Day sale going on so the wife and I have bought a few games recently. About 20 so far.
At the moment I'm splitting my time between Civilization 3 (got it because my buddy at work is always telling me about his gaming) the original Aliens Vs Predator and Broken Sword 2.

The steam sale is great. I only really signed up to steam last year to play Monkey Island (I mainly play the PS3) but the sale has got me buying, and enjoying, PC games again. Picked up the Introversion collection the other day and am addicted. I keep checking every day to see what the rolling deals are too.

Got the Monkey Island 5 pack the other day. $9.99 I think it was.
Along with RE5, Silent Hill: Homecoming, GTA4 and a few others.

BLUR and SPLIT SECOND are still the first games I put in my PS3 , though tbh, after a few weeks BLUR has become slightly boring and very repetitive in Single Player.
How many times must I race the same few basicly designed city tracks with a small slection of unimaginative power up's ?
On the plus side the Hackney and Brighton tracks are fun (the first few times you play them)

SPLIT SECOND's becoming the more fun single player experience though as time goes buy , Ok, it didn't have that instant 'buzz' that BLUR give , but its turned out give a longer lasting one.
(Single Player)

BLUR and SPLIT SECOND are still the first games I put in my PS3 , though tbh, after a few weeks BLUR has become slightly repetitive in Single Player, though it's still enjoyable enough and definetly give's the better 'buzz' outta the two. .
How many times must I re race the same basicly designed city tracks at twilight with a small slection of unimaginative power up's just to fill 'Fan Demands'.?
That gripe aside though, theres a great selection of cars and off road Jeep's to play with, the handlings a joy and you can feel the difference between each car, plus the Hackney and Brighton tracks are great fun .
I would say BLUR would really shine with its Online Multiplayer races though.

SPLIT SECOND's not quite as good as Blur to begin with though things pick up as you unlock the more faster cars in the game.
If like me your a avid petrol head , you'll more than likely find this game a bit on the easy side , it is a Disney game afterall, so far a decent challenge its best to play this on 'Hard' from the get go.
All cars in SS are fictious , as are the tracks, compared to Blurs licenced automobile's and real world location's .

BLUR...7.5/ 10 ....Split Second...6 /10......(Based on Single Player gameplay)

If you're using an HD cable try also plugging in the scart lead at the same time, the TV might then register the scart first. If the PS3 then shows up, go to settings and programme it to run through the HDMI lead, whilst it configures it change AV channel on TV back to HDMI input and see if it shows. Hope that makes sense, hard to explain what I mean
