The UK release. It was one of those titles which I pre-ordered and forgot about so was slightly surprised when it came through the letterbox!

The last BD I ordered was The Exorcist Canadian Steelbook. It may have my least favourite of the two versions but, as they are both brilliant and I do love Steelbooks, the purchase was almost a no-brainer. It's my seventh copy and, even though four of them are on DVD, I'm not parting with any.

After catching up with Mark Cousin's The Story Of Film the other day I instantly picked up Daisies and after some chat on one of the other forums I grabbed The Cremator whilst I was at it.
Boogie Nights and Black Death BRs were a gift from the missus whilst we wandering around Winchester on Sunday morning, and Jerry Springer: The Opera was a Poundland find in Winchester too.
I nipped into Fopp today to ask them to remove one of those weird red security tags that stops you from opening a DVD case as they neglected to do so on one of my purchases from last week, so whilst I was there it seemed not pick something up so I went for another BFI Flipside BR; Herostratus.

Also my Liquid Sky poster managed to find it's way from the States to these fair shores after I won it on eBay a while ago.

Nice purchases, Phurious. I meant to record Mark Cousins' History of Film, but forgot and so will now check the TV listings to see if it's repeated.

Default Blue Velvet Blu Ray

Can anyone confirm that the MGM/Fox Blue Velvet BD is region free? I've just read on dvd beaver that it is and it just made my day but I want to make sure before I get it.

I'm not region free obviously, when it comes to blu ray at present.

Thanks in advance

Its just a shame BFI couldn't have cleaned them up a little bit more, Eureka have released films of the same era with practically zero imperfections, but I guess it mostly comes down to the quality of the film stock available as opposed to the publisher/distributor. Its clear how much BFI revere Ozu and I'm sure they did the best they could.
City Girl must look stunning on bd.I own the dvd and it looks as it was made a few years back!

Planet Axel say it's Region A but, as mine was shipped last week, it should arrive soon and I'll be able to confirm the region myself.

Axel also mention it hasn't been tested yet so they just put A...

"This title has not yet been tested and confirmed Region Free/locked."

I've just tried it in my PC BD drive, and it is indeed region free.

Looks great too from flicking through it.
