It's my birthday soon and wife asked me if anything I want.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Lone-Wolf-Cu...e+wolf+and+cub

Has anyone got this box set of lone wolf and cub just wondering if it is any good?

Wondering if I should get this or just the DVD version ?

It's only a £5 more.

A million times better than the old boxset of poorly letterboxed movies that has been kicking about for years in the UK but there was a bit of controversy about it (i.e shouting on forums) due to excessive DNR applied. I'm sure you know but it's locked to A too.

Had no idea the UK transfer was so poor.

I see someone on PLAY shares your frustration:

'The transfer is terrible; faded, flickering, low contrast and zero detail. This is doubly insulting considering they have a restoration documentary...WHAT RESTORATION? If they did one I haven't noticed it.
I've seen better DVD's of this title and there is a US version which is magnificent AND region free.'

I might be bringing in the US version myself, I hadn't realised it was a different transfer until I got home, the flickering really distracts!
