I do think it suffered due to a lack of Bruce Campbell's Ash character as well. Overall, not bad though n

I definitely recommend maniac, again intense like the original but slick and stylish with a top drawer soundtrack.

I've recently been playing poker against Ash in the excellent game "Poker Night 2". I've been playing on Xbox but I know it's on other platforms including PC.

This weeks purchases include a few preowned blurays from last weekends Blockbuster fire sale which ended up costing £3.33 each and a few cheap 99p cash generator and charity store purchases.
I also received the Ozploitation vol 4 box set from an ebay seller.

I have to say the new Evil Dead is miles above Army of Darkness. They're coming up with Army of Darkness 2 now that the franchise is back in the map.Scared already.

Personally I thought the new Evil Dead was awful, soulless crap.

On the contrary, the Maniac remake is one of the best remakes to come out in recent years.

I quite liked the new Evil Dead. I found it a solid continuation of the franchise, rather than a remake, and a good return to the solid horror of the original.

But yes, Maniac is an amazing movie, much better than the original.

I STILL haven't seen the new Evil Dead... although the more I hear about it, the less I want too.

The Maniac remake was fantastic - the best remake in years (possibly ever), and Elijah Wood nailed the role, despite me having some reservations on how he'd handle it.

I've already bought the soundtrack and plan to buy the BD soon.

All I can say about Elijah Wood is Froddo who?
He creeped me out more than Joe Spinell in the original
