Not horror but watched 'The Crossing Guard' yesterday. 1995 Sean Penn-directed Jack Nicholson & David Morse thriller. Morse kills Jacks daughter and then Jack wants revenge when Morse gets out of jail. Won't say whether he gets it or not

Very stylish with excellent music and dripping in sleazy atmosphere. Had a very 80's feel about it. Oh and Nicholson on incredible form! So entertaining.

has anyone seen Harry Novak's The Child?

"The Child" is a wonky, mini, almost masterpiece of strange anti-acting, crazy camera angles and has a general sense of weirdness that feels more accidental than by design. It's certainly got it's own charm, if you like oddball, American horrors of the 70s. The nearest films it comes close to, in my mind, are "Messiah of Evil" and "Lemora: A Child's Tale of the Supernatural" but it's nowhere near as good as these two.
