I completely agree with my esteemed colleague. It's wonderfully stylish and something which engages if you concentrate, or washes over you if you don't, being enjoyable either way. It's something I need to buy because I somehow haven't done so yet.

Bride Of Frankenstein (1935, James Whale) Just simply the best sequel ever imo. Regardless whether The Creature should or shouldn't have spoken ... it set the template for horror sequels that is still used today. Was watching the trailers on a vhs last century and the The Bride one came on. This is why I hate Sting. I digress. Ernest Thesiger reanimates Frankenstein's desire to play with the dead by sheer force of personality ... a career best imo. Women have no place in his world. When you can create 'life' singularily, there is no need for la femme. People can dribble on about "subtext" & "metaphor" but to me it's all right there in front of you I digress. Can't wait to see if this compares to it's parent on BD. That looks stunning ....fingers crossed.
