I was reminded by Slippery Jack about The Ghost and realised I didn't own it, so just ordered the BD.

The one based on the Robert Harris novel, directed by Roman Polanski and starring Ewan McGregor, Pierce Brosnan and Olivia Williams. It's sometimes called The Ghost Writer, if that brings any bells.

It's strange when films have two very similar titles -- I much prefer The Ghost as it is slightly more ambiguous and could refer to the 'ghost' of the previous writer hanging over proceedings and the 'ghosts' of Lang's past.

Anyone know why the cover for Friday 13th isn't the same as the other reissues which have a white background with a bloody weapon on the front? I like the uniformity of those.
I think it's because the first one is owned by Warner and the others are owned by Paramount. It would have been nice if they had used a similar cover, as that one is terrible.

Just stuck it on, and the picture is.... ok. Decent level of detail, but it all looks a little flat and dull. I expected the colours to stand out a little more.

TERMINATOR SALVATION - Not bad, better than part 3 but not as good as the original.

BEYOND THE DARKNESS - Never liked this film but I thought I'd give it another chance by watching the BD, and I actually liked it better than I did previously, though I still don't think it's anything special. Blu-ray isn't bad, certainly an upgrade on the DVD.

WHO DARES WINS - Cheesy, fun - if slightly overlong. The Arrow BD is the worst I've seen. Arrow's blu-ray is awful, easily the worst I've seen. It's way below blu-ray standard.

Part 3 had a brilliantly dark and nihilistic ending. If the rest of the film had shared that tone, it would have been amazing. As it stands, it's almost as if the ending is from a completely different film. And the CGI is woeful, I expected more from a Blockbuster of this calibre.

Terminator: Salvation is okay...ish. I thought Bale was incredibly miscast though, he didn't seem comfortable in the role at all - and the CGI Arnie made me laugh for all the wrong reasons, it was just so crap. Not one I'll be in a hurry to revisit. The central premise was rubbish too: in a nutshell 'Why don't we just hit the 'off' button?' I mean...c'mon
