I know what's meant by independent films Nos. Just that i don't necessarily know which films are independant or otherwise. I know some of the more obvious examples like TCM or Night of the Living Dead.

I must admit I was unsure on some, so looked at several lists online and then cross-referenced the production companies/distributors for them on Wikipedia and the IMDb for other films which may fit the 'independent' definition. As a result, by currently have a fairly extensive list which needs to be reduced.

That's what I did (apart from the ones I knew for definite), I checked a few lists and picked my favourites from them to compile my 10
