A lot of my choices have a very distinctive style of their own that take me out of everyday life and into a fantasy/unique world for a few hours.

Eva Green is okay, but the film's atmosphere and the soundtrack are more stimulating.

Thanks everyone for your lists of films which make you feel happy – there was a wide variety, showing how subjective feelings are and what might make one person happy will make someone else feel the opposite or even nothing at all! Today is the start of Global Money Week, something which, according to the website, is designed to raise awareness amongst children and young people "about money, saving, creating livelihoods, gaining employment and becoming an entrepreneur". To create a list of films, it's probably easiest to take that as a wide subject and think of everything to do with that quote above, from starting a business to becoming an entrepreneur. FILMS ABOUT BUSINESS AND MONEY |

Top 10 Business and Money films. A limited subject this week i feel. Had it been about business OR money then it would have allowed for films such as Treasure of the Sierra Madre. or Mackenna's Gold. Even just with eight films i've had to flesh it out with three crime films where the business aspect is on the dubious side.
The Firm (1993) Glengarry Glen Ross (1992) One, Two, Three (1961) The Hudsucker Proxy (1994) Larceny, Inc. (1942) Casino (1995) Bugsy (1991)* Working Girl (1988) The Wolf of Wall Street (2013) Wall Street (1987) Last edited by Demdike@Cult Labs; 27th March 2018 at 06:20 PM. |

I didn't consider Scarface as it's a crime film rather than business. Although films like Casino are crime at least they involve legit business ventures whereas Scarface is just drug dealing. Nos specified business and money which i felt made possible lists quite limiting. |

Quote:
My list also includes those 'dubious business' films, such as The Godfather & The Godfather Part II, which depicts someone building up a business (Genco Olive Oil), and then expanding it to other areas. Even in the first film, Michael's rise to power and eventually succeeding his father is down to making business decisions, even those which involve murder. This subject could even extend to something like Brian De Palma's Scarface, which is about one man being a criminal entrepreneur! (This is a definition of entrepreneur by Oxford Living dictionaries: "a person who sets up a business or businesses, taking on financial risks in the hope of profit.") There's even this article about five lessons that businessmen can learn from the movie: https://www.huffingtonpost.com/dorie...b_1148554.html
