Thanks to all who contributed a list of their favourite Nazisploitation and Nunsploitation films and/or their favourite horror films from 1986.

This week is different again and coincides with today being wear your pyjamas to work day. In celebration of comfort and laziness, can you have a think of your favourite cinematic slackers, those who are generally unemployed, or show (at best) a tenuous commitment to work, are lazy and are very limited in their ambitions.

This can be a list of your favourite slackers or a list of the films in which a slacker is one of the main characters.

Top Ten Slacker Films

Dazed and Confused (1993)
Clerks (1994)
Clerks II (2006)
Empire Records (1995)*
Mallrats (1995)
Threesome (1994)
The Big Lebowski (1998)
Bande Ã* part (1964)
American Graffiti (1973)
Detroit Rock City (1999)

List in no particular order as they are all great films (Well perhaps not Detroit Rock City...but i like it)

I've left Chasing Amy out, partly to make room for other films but mainly because the plot is about comic book artists, successful ones at that, so not slackers as such...even though Jay and Silent Bob do have pivotal moments in the film.

I also thought Black Narcissus an odd inclusion because it doesn't have the normal formula is being set in a prison camp or other location where confinement is a feature, nor does it have the sex and violence which is so prominent in the others on the list.. Because of the remote location and the way in which the nuns are generally traumatised by forbidden desire, it's similar to Ken Russell's The Devils, only without the same level of nudity and excess.
