Thanks to everyone who contributed a list of their favourite films from 1966. The topic for this week is for films about people who travel the world in search of information, fortune, fame, or even in the name of religion. FILMS ABOUT EXPLORERS, ADVENTURERS, AND DISCOVERERS |

FILMS ABOUT EXPLORERS, ADVENTURERS, AND DISCOVERERS Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989) King Kong (1933) National Treasure (2004) The Mummy (1999) Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001) Sahara (2005) Gwendoline (1984) Congo (1995) Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life (2003)* Some goodies missed the cut here. Namely 2018's much better than anticipated Tomb Raider, Adele Blanc-Sec, Peter Jackson's King Kong. Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom wasn't counted because it's basically set in one place and he's not exploring, he's on a set out mission. And no. I haven't gone with Cradle of Life just so i could show THAT poster. Honest! |

I'll probably change this list in a week or so because I plan to watch both Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and rewatch Tomb Raider and I am fairly sure that at least one of them will deserve a place on the list

Thanks to all the contributed a list of their favourite films about explorers, discoverers or adventurers. The topic for this week should have been done as close to April 23 as possible to commemorate Shakespeare's birthday but I clean forgot! There have been many films influenced by Shakespeare's writing, either faithful adaptations or loosely inspired by the Bard's plays, with directors from Orson Welles to Akira Kurosawa, Kenneth Branagh to Roman Polanski making films based on his work. Additionally, there are films about his life which could be included. SHAKESPEARE FILMS |

This is a topic i am completely out of unfortunately. The only ones i've seen are Titus (which i still own) and Mel Gibson's Hamlet, a long time ago. It's not a subject that interests me at all. Hopefully some members will be able to contribute but i can't. |
