Christmas With The Kranks

When Tim Allen and Jamie Lee Curtis's Daughter leaves for Christmas, they decide to boycott Christmas much to the dismay of their neighbors who love Christmas. It's good waste of 100 minutes but it's not one of the higher tier Christmas movies.

Elf

Modern classic Christmas movie in which Will Ferrell is raised in the North Pole but heads for New York to find his Father (James Cann) He ends up being the ultimate fish out of water with his antics causing great WTF looks for the normal New York residents. Zooey Deschenell (Who I thought was Reece Witherspoon) co-stars. This is so funny, Ferrell is perfect in this film.

I do wonder why there hasn't been a legit sequel to this one (I'm not counting those specials)

Mr B, It's my traditional Christmas Eve film and I can't wait to watch it again this year!

I love this one. I think it's really touching at the end when Allen gives the tickets for the holiday away to M Emmett and his ailing wife.

Plus the botox scene really makes me laugh.

It's one that's become a firm favourite with me over the years.

Die Hard 2 (1990)

Now then, nothing says Merry Christmas quite like William Sadler doing naked exercises in a hotel room!

That's pretty much what Renny Harlin said in a recent Empire magazine interview.

One of the best ways to introduce a villain to the movie.

Whilst that is true however I thought that the neighbors came off too mean spirited and not in the good way. Also I thought that the whole Burglar storyline was rather unnecessary. Don't get me wrong I liked it but it's not in my top Christmas movies

Yeah, i agree with you regarding the burglar part. It's a bit like Christmas Vacation with the SWAT team. It's unnecessary.

Die Hard 2 makes Bruce Willis look better and better. The role of John McClane is one filled with the fight for right and to trying to stop the bad guys. This film has more freedom as it is held at an airport and McClane is all over the place and some tight spaces a swell and close encounter with some hand grenades.

William Sadler plays the Colonel of the military group hoping to rescue a Mexican Army General and drug lord looking for a new peaceful life except he meets McClane. Dennis Franz plays the Airport Police Captain Lorenzo who seems to follow his own judgement and no one else's. John Amos plays Grant who is tasked to deal with the situation.

Although the original is the best movie this is a worthy sequel that I still score very highly. Great plot, great action scenes and fight sequences and simply filled full of fun and some good laughs even with janitor Marv trying to negotiate a deal.

Never really thought of this one as a Christmas movie. TBH, I've kind of neglected this movie. Think I'll make this my Saturday Night no-brainer, feet up and just relax film.

It's my choice for tomorrow night after the tree has gone up.
